Matt Brooker is a vocalist whose work moves fluidly across genres, drawing from a foundation in jazz while embracing pop, rock, country, and musical theatre. Known for his versatility and command of style, he approaches each performance with a deep sensitivity to the music and the moment, shaping his sound to meet the needs of the stage while maintaining a distinct artistic voice.

He currently serves as a Premier Band vocalist with the United States Air Force Academy Band, where he performs in a wide range of musical settings—from formal concerts and ceremonial events to large-scale public performances. In this role, Brooker regularly navigates diverse repertoire, delivering music that spans generations and genres with both technical precision and expressive depth.

Brooker’s path as a vocalist began alongside his formal training as a French horn player and music education major at the University of Florida. While studying, he remained closely connected to singing through musical theatre and collegiate a cappella, experiences that would later shape his identity as a performer. After college, he continued to develop as a vocalist in Orlando, including a production of RENT, before relocating to Atlanta and fully committing to a career in live performance.

In Atlanta, Brooker became an active presence in the city’s jazz community, performing at venues such as The Velvet Note, Kat’s Café, Venkman’s, and Red Light Café. During this time, he also produced original shows and established a recurring jazz jam, contributing to the local scene as both a performer and organizer. These experiences helped refine his approach to live music—one rooted in interaction, adaptability, and a strong sense of musical storytelling.

Now based in Colorado, Brooker continues to perform throughout the region, appearing in both independent projects and official performances with the Academy Band. Across all settings, his work reflects a commitment to versatility, musicianship, and creating meaningful musical experiences that resonate with audiences.
